Doubt as to milk flows in New Zealand remain – but the reality is that things are getting worse. October milk is likely to be 3-5% down, and after a little bounce in late October and early November, the last few weeks have seen a rapid decline in the pasture growth indicators, especially in the South Island. 2 weeks forecasts as of today have further cold weather coming into NZ for the remainder of November, which will continue to hold back milk flows – we are slowly passing the point of no return in terms of a “late spring”.
